WARRIOR OF LIGHT, WARRIOR OF DARKNESS A SOUL THAT SHINES BRIGHT AND WARM AS THE SUN BACKGROUNDAisthota was born and raised in Ul'dah, the second daughter of boisterously cheerful mercenary Flaming Steel and hopelessly eccentric alchemist Clear Spring. Clear Spring's eccentricities being why this Hellsguard couple gave their children traditional Roegadyn names, and also how Flaming Steel's name ended up mistranslated in said children's surnames, that is definitely an IC mistake and not at all the player covering her own OOC ass!!! Her family was not especially well-off, but work came steadily enough for both her parents and Aisthota grew up comfortably. Her father regaled her with tall tales from his mercenary work, and her mother allowed her to read the grimoires she crafted. And then the Calamity struck when she was 15. Flaming Steel had joined the Immortal Flames when the company was founded, and he was among the casualties at Cartenau. Aisthota's older sister, Rhylgeim, left home soon thereafter, translating her name and taking up mercenary work herself. And Aisthota, wanting to be more helpful to her mother, started studying those grimoires more seriously. 5 years later, Aisthota decided to strike out into the world as an adventurer, and traveled to Limsa Lominsa to join the Arcanist's Guild there. The Arcanist's Guild introduced her to the importance of battlefield tactics and knowing precisely what your allies can do in order to best direct them, and Aisthota decided that the best way to gain said knowledge would be through firsthand experience. And so as she continued her travels, joining the Scions of the Seventh Dawn and so on, she also joined every combat guild that would take her. She learned thaumaturgy, conjury, the sword, the bow, how to fight with nothing but her fists, anything and everything. When the opportunity arose to learn music and song from a bard, she jumped at that chance, too. And that wasn't the only field she pursued more deeply, either. She was already a wandering do-gooder, so making it official as a free paladin of the Sultansworn was an easy decision, and when she met X'rhun Tia, the very concept of combining some of the various disciplines she'd already learned into a single fighting style appealed immensely. Following her climatic battle with Nidhogg, she found that her connection to Hraesvelgr's eye still lingered, so she underwent dragoon training to utilize it. She eagerly seized the opportunity to add dancing to her entertainment repertoire, even if she didn't think much of its combat use at the time. Her background in arcane geometry made Sage easy to grasp when she chanced to encounter Lalah Jinjahl on her mission. But throughout it all, Red Mage remained Aisthota's favored fighting style. Until the Final Days struck Etheirys. Suddenly, combat power paled in importance next to the ability to inspire hope and overcome despair. That combined with Venat's effective use of the job prompted Aisthota to start favoring Dancer, a preference that continues to the present day. A sufficiently existential threat still merits use of the Red Mage, but for day to day adventuring, it's Dancer all the way. PERSONALITYAisthota is, overall, a very positive person. She believes that hard work and perseverance will conquer all ills, and that keeping a cheerful attitude in the interim will help bridge the gap. She always does her best and tries to help other people, and naturally assumes this is also true of other people. Simply put, she is immensely gullible. She will happily do just about anything she's asked to, without thinking too hard about the why of it. (Especially if she's getting paid to do it.) Obviously everyone has the best of intentions and everything will work out fine!!! She's not stupid, she's an immensely quick study, in fact, she just. Does not have a single suspicious bone in her body. High INT, low WIS, as they say. Speaking of that high INT, gosh does she love learning new things. She has an unquenchable thirst for knowledge and she collects new skills like they are shiny things and she is a magpie. ...Similarly, she is also immensely distractable and will often drop what she's currently working on to go pursue a shiny new thing instead. WHUPS. ABILITIESExpert level (these jobs are max level and Aisthota favors them)
Highly skilled (these jobs are also max level but Aisthota doesn't use them as often)
Passably proficient (these classes cap out at level 30 with no job stones, except for the Heavensward jobs, which cap out at 50)
Crafting and gathering classes (these are leveled enough to get her through the Studium quests and custom deliveries but her engagement is otherwise pretty casual)
